As part of the MAIS project, a training course on communication was organized in partnership with Clima-Med. The aim of this initiative was to strengthen and develop participants’ communication skills. It aimed to assess the communication actions envisioned, while exploring with the participants ways to enhance the visibility of MAIS activities.

The session was attended by Mr. Adel Ben Rhouma, Secretary General in charge of managing the affairs of the Municipality of Sfax, Mr. Riadh Haj Taieb, Director General at the Municipality of Sfax and Head of the C4C MAIS project co-financed by the European Union, as well as several executives from the municipalities of Sfax and Chihia.

The day started with a presentation by the municipality’s team showcasing the progress of various MAIS project activities. Following this, the Clima-Med communication team kicked off the training session with two modules on:

  1. An introduction to environmental communication
  2. The strategic challenges of social networks and how to use them to optimize the overall communication of the MAIS project.

The main areas of training included:

  • Strengthening the communication skills of participants from the municipalities of Sfax and Chihia
  • Developing an effective communications approach and strategy for digital and social media
  • Using the skills acquired in the MAIS project to optimize communication and community involvement

The focus was set on the practical application of the skills gained through the MAIS project, as well as on monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments to optimize both communication and engagement on social networks. Proposals for post-training follow-ups were outlined to further develop the MAIS project management unit’s expertise in communication strategies.

Lively discussions followed thetraining session, marking an important step in MAIS team’s capacity building effortsaimed at maximizing the impact and reach of the project through effective and targeted communication.
