Policy and SEACAP Action Coordinator, Palestine

Mr. Abu Al Halaweh is a qualified engineer with over 18 years’ experience in development projects involving both National and Local Authorities, working in multiple posts and fields, including leading the Engineering Department of Hebron municipality in charge for the old city’s rehabilitation, management & administration, public relations, urban upgrading, support to non-state organizations and donors’ coordination.

Mr. Abu Al Halaweh has been acting as Advisor to the Minister of Local Development in the Palestinian Territories, overseeing the ministry’s international cooperation actions that support municipal management, local governance, decentralization, local economic policies and related training and capacity building; and assuring coordination between international agencies, government actors and municipalities. He has also acted as Senior Non-Key Expert in Palestine for the CES-MED project, facilitating the Covenant of Mayors (CoM) initiative and the establishment of a national SEAP Support Mechanism (SSM) in Palestine.
