On February 20, 2025, the Clima-Med project organised in Amman a meeting with representatives from the National Coordination Group (NCG). Attendees included members from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Local Administration, and the EU Delegation in Amman.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the achievements, tools, and impact of the Clima-Med project, emphasising the importance of sustaining these results.

They highlighted that aligning Clima-Med’s outcomes into national and municipal frameworks is a crucial step toward enhancing climate and energy planning capacities, particularly for municipalities newly joining Clima-Med, ensuring they have access to necessary project tools, resources and expertise to prepare energy and climate action plans.

A key outcome of the meeting was the agreement on the importance of establishing a sustainable framework for climate action.

The Clima-Med team agreed to develop a draft concept for a roadmap with special attention to maximising climate financing opportunities. This will ensure that municipalities have the resources needed to implement sustainable initiatives.

The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration among ministries, municipalities, and international partners to achieve Jordan’s climate goals.

A follow-up session will be scheduled to finalise the roadmap and agree on implementation steps.
