
In continuation of the UN-Habitat/Clima-Med workshop held in Beirut from 18 to 20 February 2019, and at the request of participating municipalities to assist in the development of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SEACAPs) for their cities, a workshop was held in Bint Jbeil Federation of Municipalities on Saturday 23 March 2019, in the presence of mayors and their representatives. It included training on initial requirements for SEACAP preparation as well as successful examples of sustainable development projects and accession procedures for joining the CoM.
The participants conveyed their appreciation for the efforts exerted by Clima-Med’s experts for their cities and expressed their wishes to join the CoM. The workshop will be reiterated by the Project in several areas of Lebanon to ensure full transfer of knowledge and skills to local key actors and contribute to building their capacities in developing and implementing Climate Action Plans.
