Ms. Yonat Schwartz has 25 years of experience working with local authorities. She holds an M.A. in Clinical and Educational Psychology and an M.A. in Environment studies. She developed an in-depth experience in consolidating organizational structures of municipalities and undertook related managerial positions. She has extensively held seminars and workshops with key stakeholders aimed at adapting their long-term plans on climate change adaptation and mitigation, resource management and reduction, energy audits, capacity building and awareness raising. Her related professional experience includes mapping of organizational processes and removal of barriers, also targeting private as well as public organizations.
Ms. Schwartz has acted as a Local Expert in Israel for the EU funded CES-MED project, facilitating the adhesion to the Covenant of Mayors (CoM) initiative and developing SEAPs/ SECAPs by municipalities. She has also co-written two national level reports regarding the financial and policy aspects on Sustainable Future and Climate Change Readiness of Local Authorities, involving National Authorities, domestic and international donors and stakeholders.
