Ménouèr BOUGHEDAOUI is a Professor of Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Technology at Saad Dahlab of Blida University, in Algeria. He also holds the title of vice-chancellor in charge of external relationships and cooperation since 2016. With more than 25 years dedicated to research and projects on protecting the environment and working against climate change, he has worked to develop training and research in environmental studies, and to strengthen the skills and capabilities of both public institutions and socio-economic players.
His areas of expertise include: atmospheric pollution and pollutants and their formation (techniques for recording pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions), developing policies and actions for mitigating climate change, the transfer of technologies, energy efficiency, developing the renewable energy market, the quality of urban air, road transport pollution and developing alternative fuel markets.
Since 2004, he has been an expert reviewer of the UNFCCC greenhouse gas emission reports for countries not included in Annex 1 of the convention and since 2014 he has participated in the international consultation process and analysis of BUR for non-annexe I countries. He was the national coordinator for Algeria’s second national communication on climate change to the UNFCCC that was submitted in 2010 and project author for Algeria’s third national communication and the first updated biennial report, launched in 2019.
